At Timan Custom Window Treatments, we’re proud of the fact that we’ve been serving Cleveland area communities for over 30 years. Due to COVID-19, and the shelter-in-place orders, we’ve had time to reflect. It’s more important now, than ever before, to understand what locally made means to us, whether that’s here in the Cleveland area, or in small towns throughout this country.
Small Businesses Support
What we’ve all been going through has hit everyone hard, in different ways. From our perspective, we understand how difficult it has been on small businesses. Those business owners and their employees…they all live in our communities. Their presence is an important part of where we call home. The locally made products and services of our favorite restaurants, salons, flower shops and more–they need us right now, don’t they? If you want to help them make it through these trying times, we’ve got some ideas for you.
Online Is Important. The internet has been the window to the world for so many of us. The best thing you can do for your favorite small business? Give locally made products and small businesses your personal seal of approval! Reviews, follows on social media, shared posts and pictures about what you love–these are invaluable gifts you can give!
Gift Cards Are a Gift to the Business! The money you spend for gift cards right now is helping small business owners pay their employees and put dinner on the table. The benefit is that down the road, you can enjoy them!
Freshen Up Your Selections. Now is the perfect time to think outside the norm. Instead of running across town to a big box store, order dinner to go. Then, on your way, swing by a local deli and grocer for what you need this week.
Some of the Businesses Are Nonprofit. The local food pantries and shelters are playing a vital role in providing for our communities. They could really use our support to support those in need.
Locally Made Products
We don’t mention it often, but we should. Do you know that the Hunter Douglas products we sell and install in homes all over the Cleveland area are made–right here–in North America? Not only that, but the chosen locations are not necessarily the big cities you’d imagine. Bessemer City, North Carolina, a town of just over 5,000 residents, is responsible for producing seven product lines, including the sought-after Provenance Woven Woods.
Unemployment is skyrocketing. Because of this, we’re proud to be loyal to a brand employing individuals in this country of ours. As for our custom window treatments, like draperies, cornices and other top treatments, our Cleveland Design Center has a workroom, dedicated to creating the beautiful window dressings you have come to love! Choosing locally made products doesn’t have to be a complex process, it just takes a little bit of evaluation, and it can make a world of difference in our country and our communities.
